I scrapped!

Why is this a big deal? Because it seems like I never seem to have enough time to fit it in anymore. Especially now with summer on the horizon. Lately, we’ve been visiting one of the many gorgeous parks in our neighborhood on a pretty regular basis. Isabella loves it since there are always tons of kids her age to play with.

Here’s a photo I took of my eldest and my youngest daughters at the park enjoying the beautiful view. I used Sue Jones Vintage Valentine Elements and Papers available at Digitals. If you get a chance, check out her store. This lady does some of the most amazing background papers I have ever seen. I just love her style. She always includes some interesting elements in her kits as well. I am never disappointed when I get one of her kits. They always rock! Swing by her blog. She’s been known to offer up a tasty sample now and then.

Keep in mind, today, June 15 is Designer Appreciation Day at Digitals. Many designers, including me, are having a one day only sale! Lots of great stuff, big discounts!

Don’t forget to take a look at the poll on the right side bar of this blog and let me know what you like in a scrap kit! It only takes a second. Thanks!

I’m sure most of you know Erica Nunez (erica922). She has been around the digi-scrapping community for quite some time, and probably one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of working with. She has been on my creative team since before I officially had one LOL. Erica has created a series of 8×8 quick pages using elements from my Life Is Good page kit. We have decided to share them with you!

Be sure to read Erica’s terms of use and stop by her blog and her Digitals gallery to see her other beautiful layouts.

Keep an eye out…more to come. Click the graphic.

Note to Jan: You left a comment requesting clarification on my commercial terms of use, but did not leave your email address. Please email me at sophia at sophiadaviesdesigns dot com and I would be happy to answer your question. :)

OK, that being said….Hi everyone. Just a layout share today. This made “Layout Of The Day” at Digitals. It’s a photo of my two youngest daughters on Valentines Day. I kept it very simple, only using flourishes from my Fabulous Flourishes pack and drop shadows. Fonts: Grand Prix, Efflorescence, and Arial. Let me know what you think.

I have a new layout in the gallery at Digitals. It was chosen as the Layout Of The Day and I thought I’d share it here since I really like this one. I did this as a scraplift for the Digitals mid-October newsletter. It’s a scraplift of Dana Frantz layout found here.

I used papers from my From My Heart page kit, stems and leaves from my Sweetness page kit, flowers from an upcoming kit by me, and word art by Eugenia Bacon. The original scraplift by Dana was made with her kit Moxie.”

Sharing a few layouts

I just wanted to share a few layouts with you all that my creative team has put together using my new “Sweetness” page kit. They have come up with a variety of looks here and I’m sure you will like what you see.

The layouts above, were created by Margaret. As you can see, she is a rectangle devotee and is always able to easily convert my kits for rectangle scrapping. She does a great job in showing off my designs and I love her style. I like that she never hesitates to edit a photo for a more dramatic layout. So many times we concentrate so fully on the composition of the layout and forget that just few enhancements to a photo can make all the difference in a good layout and a great layout.

The two layouts above were created by Erica. Erica is a seasoned digital scrapper and her style is constantly evolving. I love having her on my creative team. She makes designing a pleasure when I see what she can do with my kits.

Janeal created these gorgeous layouts. She is talented and creative. She has lots of boys to scrap for and somehow always seems to come up with something great with my notoriously feminine kits. She has inspired me to make an effort to design more masculine and neutral kits. Having all girls, I am just naturally draw that way.

All three of these talented ladies are also on the First Responders Team at Digitals. That means anytime you stop by Digitals, you are likely to run into one of them. They selflessly devote their time to making Digitals one of the best digi-scrap sites on the Internet along with an awesome team of designers and administrators. Stop by Digitals when you get a chance and say hello. Check out our new and improved forum and gallery. We’ve recently added more monthly challenges and we now have an open gallery. And, don’t forget the free daily download in the store, and the bonus downloads available in the gallery! We’d love to have you as part of our community.

I just wanted to share a layout created by a fellow designer, Sharia Braxton, at Digitals using my “From My Heart” page kit. I mentioned to Sharia that I created this kit in gray tones so that it could be easily colorized to suit any layout. She took the idea and ran with it. I think this looks absolutely amazing.

Here’s a preview of the kit uncolorized. It can be used as is for a stunning effect, or colorized as Sharia did.

Ok, so I warned her this may happen, so I don’t even feel the slightest bit guilty about outing her. Have you seen Sue Jones underwear? I have! She’s got them on display for all the world to see. And, just to tempt you a little more, that devious Diva if offering up a very generous freebie along with her shameless display. Check it out!!

Finally, an update! I’ve been so busy with life and other stuff that gets in my way. :)

As some of you know, our family is eagerly awaiting our newest family member due in early October. Well, according to our recent ultrasound, we are expecting our third girl! I can’t tell you how excited I am about this wonderful news.

Now to settle on a name for our little princess. We have narrowed it down, but some negotiation is still needed. I’ll let you all know when we have come to an agreement. (As you can most likely tell, naming our children doesn’t come easy for the Davies family LOL)
